Behind the Music

Affectionately known as S.O.L., this song is my baby. Writing SOL was a turning point for me... in my writing, in my maturity, in my emotions, and in my life. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. I got out of bed and wrote this thing in about 10 minutes. Then I went back to bed, and slept like a baby. I had spent some time with a really great guy from North Carolina. In a parallel universe, we were probably a scorching couple, but in this one, just friends. He humored my immaturity, and really was a saint. I look back at how I behaved and I just CRINGE. Maybe I just didn't see things so clearly. I was so young, and acted like it... but anyway, the timing was painfully wrong... so maybe in some other lifetime.
