Jewels Hanson- Biography

Forget everything you know about women in country music.  In an industry teeming with heartbreak-tinged, sweet-voiced female balladeers, Jewels Hanson is setting the record straight; she does not belong in that category.  Hanson, a singer-songwriter from Fremont, California, is a champion of the strong, single, red-blooded woman.  She sings and writes about what she knows best: boys, whiskey, motorcycles and honky-tonks.  As a performer, Hanson serves up performances that showcase her energy, electrifying personality and guileless talent.

Hanson began singing in church at an early age and soon began to dabble in musical theater. She appeared as a regular on the CBS Television series, “Child’s Play,” and appeared in various theater productions including “Peter Pan,” “Sound of Music” and “Annie.” This early experience in show business led her to crave bigger and better things. Hanson fronted the successful regional band APPALOOSA as the house band at the world famous Saddle Rack in Fremont, CA. It was there that she developed her unique stage presence, and solidified a large, enthusiastic regional fan base. While performing in California, Hanson was hired as a staff writer for the successful Nashville publishing company, Larga Vista Music, which brought her more frequently to the Country Music Capital.

While residing in Nashville, Hanson appeared on USA Network's NASHVILLE STAR Season 4 as a Top 10 Finalist. She has opened for several top Country Artists, including Tracy Byrd, Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins, Darryl Worley, Blake Shelton, Chris Cagle, Mark Chestnut, Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley, Jamie O'Neal, Phil Vassar, Gary Allan, and more. She is also a model and spokesperson for TheCoyoteJunction.com online clothing store. An avid sports fan, Jewels has performed the National Anthem for the NHL, NBA, & MLB at over 20 Professional Stadiums, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, & most recently for the NFL San Francisco 49ers 2013 season.

Jewels has also gained success as a songwriter, co-writing “Off The Hillbilly Hook”, the debut single from Show Dog Records group “Trailer Choir” and the first single off the Motion Picture Soundtrack “Beer For My Horses”. The film has sold over 2 million DVD’s to date and recently received the Academy’s Tex Ritter Award at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.  She also co-wrote Cowboy Troy’s “Cash In The Cookie Jar” from his album “Demolition Mission”.

Splitting her time between Nashville & California, Jewels was the lead singer of Diablo Road, the house band at The Saddle Rack, for the past 9 years & entertained sold-out crowds nightly.  Her new project, Jewels Hanson & Company proves to be an upgrade of energy, talent, and excitement, showcasing more of Jewels’ original work, mixed in with your all-time favorites, backed by a Super-Group of Northern California musicians.
